2.1 dj ignition prob

hi from time to time when starting my bus absolutely nowt happens. problem is its getting worse wheras it used to happen maybe once in ten starts its now happening all the time. when i turn the key it just makes the sound of the fuel pump engaging if i turn it a few more times it starts. hope this makes sense to someone out there. any help would be greatly appreciated[ ta

Most probably the ignition switch, can you hear a slight click from the x relay in the fusebox?

The other possibility is the starter motor and its earths.
Put a voltmeter on the small wire at the starter motor, if you get 10v + then start looking at the starter motor.

i had similar a few years ago changed the battery no probs since

crappy ignition switches wear out and cause annoying ignition troubles.. had me on a goose chase for days...

thanks for input. forgot 2 say have replaced ignition switch and checked battery and terminals.will check starter n earths thanks.
