How do you get rid of the dried petrol deposits in a carb.
Hi again (oh no you say). Managed to get a well made Solex 34 Pict-4 carb however, it had been lying around for a while so there is crystalised deposit of fuel in the pipes. Carb has been soaking for a long time in the dip tank and nothing is budging. Can't blow a damn thing through them. Apparently there is a company that'll do it but $$?? Is there an easier better way to get this cleared?
Cheers
Steve

I also use an ultrasound bath to clean all the brass bits, ...
Its amazing how much brown crud there is in a carb.

Re: Blocked carb
Yeah that seems to do the trick. Got a guy who charges £10 per 30 mins in the tank but took 90 mins to clean it!
