I have a very intense squeak from my nearside windscreen wiper.
I have tried replacing the blades, and also adjusting the angle of them to prevent the squeak. It stops if I lift the blade clear of the screen but I believe that the noise must be coming from the mechanism itself.
Has anyone else experienced this and, if so, how do you stop it (other than turning off the wipers). I'm guessing that it needs some lube somewhere but don't fancy hoicking the dashboard to access it.
Ideas anyone?

Mine does this too although only intermitently , I think the problem is a loose screw that holds the wiper mechanism in place, I did trace it once when I was doing the intermittent wiper upgrade but IIRC the screw that was loose was either inaccessible or badly mangled by the previous owner.
Th squeak was coming from the wiper mechanism rods that were rubbing on the front crossmember
C'est la vie! This will be the third time this year!
Preparation will be key this time, New blower, lube wipers, sort out numerous leccy gremlins, trace noisy vacuum operation on heater, etc.
Hopefully it will be the last time (until the next ......)

Yippee! I've cured the squeak, and without disturbing the dash. I took the wiper arms off and, over several hours, dosed the spindles with Duck Oil. Went out in the rain today and enjoyed silent bliss. It was evidently the spindle that was in need of lube.
When the dash is next out I will be stripping cleaning and lubing all moving surfaces to ensure that it does not return.
