Fuel problems

Post by mike74 »

Hi, I am having this problem with my 1.9 petrol caravelle ( DG) engine, think its something wrong with choke. The engine starts but will only stay running if I pump the accelerator. The engine wants to cut out if I stop pumping the pedal and if I keep the pedal pressed down. Van was running fine yesterday but has shown similar symptoms in the past when first started, but normally a couple of revs of engine rectifies this. Any advice would be great, cheers

Could be an air bubble in the fuel pipe which would mean it would struggle to run!

As daz says.Check there is only one fuel filter. Its situated just after the fuel tank.If there is one in the engine bay.Get rid of it.
