Reason I ask, is that these on eBay.de are bloody cheap in my eyes, but its listed for the 2.1 Syncro.

http://www.ebay.de/itm/VW-Transporter-3 ... 352wt_1038" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Will it fit mine, or am I missing something? Maybe something to do with a cat?
Here is one listed specifically for the 2.1, and 1.9 Syncro, but the price is a lot more.. (Correct part number - 025 251 053 H) €89 Euros

Exactly the same as above, with the same part number €140 Euros..

Thanks.

2.1 NON cat one is the same.. but.. I have found some 2wd ones often dont line up as well.. (could be coz the quality control has gone down hill I suppose) ideally you want the bolt flange to be free on the silencer or the bent end of the link pipe as its harder to rotate the silencer enough to get it all to line up as a min.. get a new link pipe too.. then you stand a fair chance of getting it all to go together.. nothing worse than fighting with rust components that dont want to move... remeber the silencer brakcets can move quite a bit on the mounting bolts so slacken them off a little..
Check where the tailpipe is pointing too. before bolting up tight... the syncro one has a kink in it (IIRC)
I always try and get them up as much as poss, that way they cant get "donked" and pulled if off roading
Use 8.8 grade bolts.. and DONT over tighten the cast knuckle as the aftermarket ones are not all that strong...

Thanks for that, my existing silence is tucked up nicely, and has a new tail pipe, but instead of the open slide on type, its the bolted on type, and does line up ok. Do you know the part number for the Link Pipe you mention, or a link to one?
After discovering a couple of leaks in my system, it's clear it's been bodged, and welded in its past, and is overdue a complete replacement of the entire system. I do plan on replacing as funds allow, but will probably get a section at a time. Really not looking forward to unbolting the old system, and by the looks of things, I may need to cut a piece off at a time. Just hope the manifold bolts do cause me any isses as I will be doing the work myself.
One of the repairs I made with paste lasted for a couple of weeks but has started to blow again, so it's looking all the more likely I will need to sell something to raise funds sooner than planned.
Thanks again.
