Swivel base and battery box cover

Post by karmannkarmann »

Just bought a Sportscraft swivel base and was going to bolt it in, but once I offered it up lining up with the existing holes in my vans seat runners my battery box cover will be unable to open, the swivel base covers it over by about 3 inchs so got no way once it's all fastened in to get to my battery, am I Bering a bumpy here and missed the obvious?

You will have to remove the box cover.

Thats the problem with swivels.Mine is a genuine vw one.And i would of have to unbolt it to get to the leisure battery. So i moved the battery to the bottom of one of my cupboards.

What a royal pain in the a***, the passenger side is where my main battery is, as it a German Firetruck.

if you swivel the seat fully round and push the seat all the way back on its runners the battery can be removed easily as long as you have fastened your bottom swivel plate flush with front of seat box
