My IKEA Interior Light

Just knocked this up today.


That's:
Two sets of LEDBERG lights from IKEA.
1 length of 40mm wide beech.

Now I need to find something brighter for up inside the pop-up roof.

I fitted some IKEA lights as well at the weekend. I'll get you some photo's.

Here's mine. I used 4 round white lights from Ikea in the "corners" and then two multi colour strips down the middle. These can be set to white for "working"



or set to coloured for show's/amusement/etc (OK not to everyones tast I know)



While at it I did this to the dash



and also put in some LED bulbs in the door lights

Did you wire those into the Zig Richard? If so, how easy was it? Also, which Spots did you use and are they bright enough to light the interior?

Want to add some LED spots in mine. Probably 8 in total - 3 either side in the hightop facing inwards to create a cross-lighting state,and then two above the bed. I'm currently drawing up a diagram to see how it all works (wires-wise), so any tips would be great!

Just to make you all ware I have had Ikea lights for some time know , mine are the multi colour flashing ones, if you have a solar panel on your roof it can over load the controller(switch) on them and switch it on!!! I have to fit a 12v to 12v converter, basicly any voltage in upto 24v and a pure 12v out!

James, I just used the existing wiring as I was taking out the flouesent lights. Cut off the transformer as you don't need that. And yes they are wired into the leisure battery. My thought being that the power draw will be less than the existing lights so they shouldn't run the leisure battery dry.
The round lights (http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70119425/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) are very directional but bright enough. With both sets of light on its like daylight

Tried it out over the weekend.
It is bright enough to read by when sat where the wife is but not bright enough if you are sat in passenger seat.

It gives out a nice soft warm light which is much better than the usual LED harsh white.
