Another awning question = fast errect and weather proof !!

Post by ghost123uk »

Hi there, yes another awning question

Swap possible for our old style retro awning :-

Due to the awful weather we have had for the last few years we have decided our retro canvas awning is to much bother to erect, too heavy, and too much bother to dry out.

(that is not me in the pic)

So, we are going to sell or swap it and are looking for a modern one that is quick and simple to erect.
It will need to have sides to protect us / contents from rain and wind and windows so we can look out at the rain and wind. It will not need to be particularly big.

Any recommendations folks that won't break the bank ?
Or Swap ?

I've got the Kyham driveaway compact 3000 and it fits all of your requirements, but the overall quality could be better, although I think it was 129 quid its pretty cheap for a tent of that size. 3x3m and 20kg ish. I can carry it to the van pretty easily.

That was a few years ago now. The closest thing to it from them now appears to be this....

http://www.khyam.co.uk/detail.asp?p=744 ... %20Sleeper" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which at 199 isn't especially cheap. Looks remarkably like the same tent I have,
looks like they have added a bit extra for a sleeping area, where as mine does have a sleeper bit, its internal to the tent and I've never used it.

Two people can put it up in about 10 minutes or so.

Thanks for the heads up sunray, but looking for summat smaller and simpler than that. It's only for bad weather protection when sitting out of the van, and for putting my model aeroplanes in when at competitions.

Keep um coming :ok
