T25 Water spigot wanted

Post by Ricardoblack »

Hi Guys
I have a cracked water spiggot .Plastic two bolt phlange and dog leg tube coming of the head I tried to plastic weld it and made a flat gasket did not work.According to lots of different VW sourses not made since 2000. But someone is remaking them in metal apparently, anybody know where I can get one?
Its a 1989 petrol 1915 cc Caravel 78PS.

Thanks
Rick

I assume you've tried Brickwerks? Not sure which bit you mean but have a look here

Or if you type wagon build into Google....... This comes straight up
What a long strange trip it's been

Hi
In Wagon built they have a pic of the part its described as plastic water pipe smalll 171B however they are out of stock. At brickwex the T3 part in metal T3 WBX coolant pipe looks similar I'll ring them on Monday to see if it fits the T25.
Thanks for the links

Regards
Rick

T3 and T25 are the same thing by different names... I won't drag it up again, but refer to it as a T3 on Brickwerks / BrickYard

Hope you get sorted. If Brickwerks can't help it might be worth a call to VW Heritage

Hi
Just a little wary as the water pipework changes from 1990 on quite significantly and there is lots of stuff with minemal clearance around that dog leg pipe.I know the post 1990 stuff doesn't fit my 1989.Or should I say thats what I've been told.
Anyway fingers crossed

Rick

1989 system is, as far as I know, the latest version. Give Brickwerks a bell or an email, have your chassis number to hand and they'll sell you the proper part (unlike some other suppliers.....).

You'll get to know their website quite well when you've had your van a while...

1990 was when the T4 went into production so that could account for what you've been told so far.

Hi Ian
Yep thats the one. the part no is the same except for a B on the end which is probably differenciating between the plastic and metal versions.
I wonder if the metal one has an o ring or flat gasket.I'm not that familiar with VW Busses it belongs to a friend who I'm trying to help out as her garage gave up trying to find a replacement part.
