1.9 DG WXB Syncro OEM Exhaust Part Numbers Breakdown Help

Post by Mickyfin »

Ok, finding out I need a complete new exhaust, I have sourced the following parts locally, and will show screenshots of each part of the Syncro's exhaust, along with the VW Part Number. This is not only for reference, but also may help other Syncro owners source these genuine parts.

My question is, which parts are missing from this list, and also, if anyone knows if I need to replace the heat exchangers too, that would be great.

Ignore the 1-7 in brackets, thats just for my reference. The other numbers are indeed the OEM VW Part Numbers.

I will come back and add prices, and links as soon as I come back from my lunch.

If anyone wishes to add, amend, correct any of the above for the 14" Petrol 1.9DG WBX Syncro, please feel free to reply, but also reply if you have any advice on where I could source the above parts individually, as I would like to cross reference costs before buying. I would, in an ideal world like to buy the complete system, but with money on the tight side I will buy a part at a time, building the system up in stages until comeplete.

Well I was going to add prices etc, but looking around, they work out more expensive, almost €800 just for the 7 pieces above. :|

I will hopefully soon be able to offer budget exhausts like those pictured above soon.
I have a rep coming from Denmark in a couple of weeks for "a chat".
Just wanting to compliment my stainless stuff with some cheaper parts for those that don't want a long warranty.

Just to note you have there above some early and late parts.
Also, there is a syncro specific elbow that fits between the manifold pipes and the silencer that to the best of my knowledge isn't available anywhere.

That's right the 90 degree elbows that go from the manifolds to the back box, I had some cast by a local firm because mine were shot through.

There are a load of syncro DG tail pipes on German eBay for around 30 euros. If you don't use the cast elbows the exhaust hangs low but you can use a 2wd tail pipe.
With elbows you have to use syncro specific tail pipe or a 2wd one hands like a limp dick.
You can say alot of of things with "ar"
