Hi,
Got a fuel gauge issue and have been advised to check the earth connection on the front left cross member.
Ive had a look under there but I cant see any obviuous wires or earthing points.
Is it tucked away somewhere? Can anyone draw a diagram / pic, as the haynes manual simply tells me its there too.
Empty the glovebox and bend the retaining straps on either side so you can lower it completely. The earth crowns are behind and slightly higher than the relay/fuseboard (on a RHD van).

Nearside, if you look through the wheel arch you can see the tip of the thread of the self tapping screw, it's normally sized in, easier to reach in and cut the cable off and remount it than to remove the tank.

Why not just run a temporary earth to check if that does indeed solve your problem? If it doesn't then there's no point chasing this earth point; if it does, connect a new permanent earth and discard the old one...
Tis a good plan, but I still need to find the correct wire, and to begin cutting up wires beneath the dash is way over my head and potentially a van killer
The Haynes diagram labels the wire li/sw yet the key doesnt explain what colours they are meant to be :S
