Spend £32 on an automatic mask, they are fully adjustable for light levels etc. They make a big difference to using a MIG welder, make it so much easier and you get the welds in the right place every time!!.

The welder may well come with a cheap hand held face mask with lens and replacement front glass plates, but an electronic mask is soooo much easier.

Re: welding glasses/goggles
I bought a cheap auto mask on ebay and its still working two years later. Have to admit that I still struggle to see whats going on sometimes, and I suspect that the more expensive masks would give you a clearer view.
E D I T: Just replaced the plastic covers on the "lens" and its a lot clearer now.

Re: welding glasses/goggles
I had a £40 quid mask which lasted me 3 years, it was great, but I have recently got a new mask in the region of £100. So much lighter, quicker response and clearer. Not knocking the cheaper one but if its for everyday use i would recommend a slightly more exspensive one. But it depends what cash you have.
