oh come on mm, it's only a crushed bearing ringee thingee. The van ran ok even with that little bitsy witsy broken bit in the box. I'm an optimist as far as repairs are concerned. Aren't we all on here?

Had a look to find code. Typical worn lettering. Any chance of an id from the pics? It looks like WW0, but can't find it in brickwerks codes
Thanks in advance

replacement case end. Replace fooked bearings and surrounding seals/washers. probably have a look inside tomorrow. Will be taking pics at each stage so as not to forget the stages of dismantling. Well thats what I'd like to do, whether you think i should or not I'd like to know.

Looks like the box had the same problem as mine did. Got to think how much the parts cost? Can you fit them? Special tools required? I thought about all that but decided to buy second hand. Picked up a good box for £100 replaced all the seals and cv joints. Guess either way it's a gamble.....
pinion bearing is shagged, damaged end case bearing, collapsed needle bearing under 1st gear, 1st gear damaged, 1stand reverse synchrohub damaged, plus all that debris has circulated, and the pinion shaft may be damaged where 1st gear bearing collapsed, repairable upto the first circlip grove
I haven't got any good used 1st gears (available new, on order, not cheap) or any good end cases, it's a full strip down to replace the pinion bearing
