wheeler dealers jag engine cleaning

Post by sooperspur »

just watched the jag episode i recorded from last week(?) and they just cleaned the fuel system through with some box of tricks. reduced the hydrocarbons down to about 75 from some ridiculous figure (not sure what i hit the wrong button and deleted it!!), it was way over the mot limit)

it was cleaned through with some potion or another for half hour with the engine running and hey presto a clean engine.

anyone here had this done? im sure he said it was about 75 quid which seems very cheap for a very useful service

Looks good that. Water injection is great for engine cleaning too.

I'd be careful about using that on old engines, sometimes the carbon deposits are vital for compression.

Very true. Could be a few smokey engines after that's been through.

It seems that way, unless the solution can be added straight to the carb inlet or something. Couple of old school techs i used to work with swore by pouring brake fluid down a carb to clean the internals
