Found one on eBay.de which lists as compatible with the 1.9DG Syncro, so should be fine with the one on BW's.
I have just started a new thread actually as I'm interested in replacing not just the main fuel filter, but also the return filter behind the carb.

1.9 injection engines were certain local markets only like the US and Switzerland. That big filter you have in the pic is definitely for efi. You won't find the carb-mounted overspill filter anywhere, all that stuff is unique to carb syncro and very much obsolete, as I found when I broke the little plastic one-way valve.

I just run it on a little universal filter to feed the pump. Works ok. The overspill unit is to prevent fuel starvation on steel slopes with a low tank, afaics.

Okey dokie, will try a universal one. The overflow/return maybe at fault, as on an incline is when I have experienced the occasional problem of loss of power.

Been unable to find the underslung fuel filter. Any pointers on where exactly I should be looking?
As per my exhaust blowing, I have been underneath the Syncro today, and its not blowing from the exhaust manifold, as first suspected, but is blowing from a hole in the rear silencer, and a second leak in the pipe running up to the manifold on the right hand side of the engine.
Looking at the condition of the pipes, its clear the PO has cut some pipes, and welded DIY pips here and there.
I can temp fix these of course, but the route of action with my OCD is to replace the whole system. Just need to save the pennies now I guess, or sell some unwanted items to raise the cash.
I have checked on Brickwerks, and Just Kampers, and they are not cheap are they? I think Stainless would be overkill, but will try and source nearly new/used if any come up for sale.

Been routing underneath again today looking for the fuel filter, but I can't find it anywhere
Also whilst underneath, I took another look at the exhaust, and noticed the heater exchangers are rotten. Do these need to be replaced, or is it ok to remove them? If removable, do I need to plug the pipe at all?

Fixed the two exhaust leaks with paste and foil after a good wire brushing. Now no blowing
I am leaning towards investing in Brickwerks Stainless Steel Syncro exhaust seeing as they don't use the heat exchangers, and mine are rotten anyway.

Today started nice and sunny, however, starting to look like rain now. So with the clouds approaching, I set about carrying out some minor rust treatment. Both front door steps..
Removed the plastic covers to reveal the rust..
Drivers side..

Passengers side..

The passenger side has an area which ideally I would like to cut out, but for now will apply vatcan after a wire brushing and clean..
Drivers side cleaned. Not too bad..

Passenger side cleaned. Again, not too bad, just that one area of a retaining hole.

Now as stated earlier, ideally I would like to cut out that rusted area on the passenger side, but being unable to weld myself, what would be a cost effective way of preserving the area? Under-seal prior to fitting the new rubber steps?

Well I opted for some under seal, and the fitted my new rubber steps. Damn they were hard to push into their retaining holes. It would of made things a lot easier if I removed the under body protection layer, but didn't want to, hence the under seal did help by lubricating the holes somewhat.

Boiling water might have helped to soften them a bit?

Aye, will try that today as the are not seating in their holes right, popped out. Will also remove the old underseal the help too, then should be fine.

Redid my door steps after soaking them in hot water, worked a treat.
Yesterday I got in a right mess. Under sealing. Only managed to do under one arch, and it reminded me of shaving private parts
When to stop
Anyway, one down, 3 to go, then the floor. Well thats when I get a new brush, and a longer reach one to completely finish the first one.

Well, my exhaust repair has held on the small hole in the rear silencer, but the repair on the one corner piece has gave way today, so need to repair it once again.
Simon, if you are reading this, any news from Denmark?
