Morning all.
I replaced a cheapo aftermarket fog light switch for a VW one last week. Took my van home to Coventry over the weekend to show the family and seem to have developed a ticking/clicking sound that increases in speed as the van does.
I'm guessing the speedo cable isn't quite connected as I removed the whole pod to do a bit of tidying and to fit a new digital clock (which just counts!!).
Has anyone come across this before.
Thanks
David

Re:
An old trick from an old friend ... try disconnecting the cable from the back of the speedo and running 3-in-1 oil down the inner cable and reconnect it firmly.

Cheers guys, seemed like the only explanation, I've only had the van for a short while and I wasn't sure if it was another 'design feature'

Thanks for the 3 in 1 tip Ian. Now all I have to do this week is sort out the leak from the coolant expansion tank

Re:
If the tank is cracked you could try the "hot knife" method to melt the plastic and seal the leak.
However new ones are available from Brickwerks.
