Oil Pump Help Please

Post by Evsi »

Hi all, happy Bank Holiday!

Anyone know if you have to have the slot a certain way round when fitting to the block, or is it just the case that if it slots into the vac pump, all should be ok? Only ask because i noticed what looks like a gallery hole in the end of the shaft after removing the old one.

Diolch :ok
It's not rust, they're heat blisters....

I might help if you put the engine type ... I assume it's a diesel ?

As Ian says, it sounds like a diesel, as it's got a vac pump. I'm pretty sure that oil gallery feeds oil to the vac pump and skew gears, at least that's what I assumed. As long as the pump slots in OK and the oil pump bolts up easily, it should be OK.
1.9D (AEF) pop-top. Aaaaahhhhh........that's better.

Apologies guys, yes it's a jx 1.6td.

Just a bit weird as engine had good oil pressure before the build and now has next to nothing. I'll strip it again and re-check my measurements :(
