Having recovered our back seats and buddy seat in sandersons dandelion clocks fabric I fitted some madmatz tiles today with a strong but water based evo stick and will cut holes to put the buddy seat holes in.
Does anyone have two buddy seats side by side in a westy ie one on the o/s behing passenger and one in the middle. I thought potentially I could bolt some angle iron between the normal buddy seat rear mount where it bolts to seat base and run it to the other seat base.
Thin waterproofed ply cut so that i can be taken out quite easily ie not sightly up to every edge but looks lie a close fit. I took our the domed had bolts that hold in the runner covers (for extra seats in middle of floor) and then lay tiles on top of 3mm ply so if i have to i can take out quite easily in one piece. You could fairly easily take out original play floor in three parts and replace with new play with these matz on the top face but TBH it would mean kitchen out and a lot more work. The tiles are ivory and mid red which cant be seen very well in this pic but it adds a retro touch without being too tacky- i hope.

I'm about to do a mad matz floor (I think your supposed to nowadays!) and have puzzled with the interior units, but I think it's going to have to be a blank floor.
Tom, you're quite right, they are sort of obligatory- bit like a Birka for Muslim women but in the van floor religious etiquette dept. looks retro and makes me feel it's nearly as cool as having an old bay again- its easy to forget how cold, slow, noisy, uncomfortable and rusty they are though! Good luck.
Haha, yea, something like that but alot less bigoted! The van currently has laminate flooring in it, which as well as looking like the hallway in a Baratt home probably weighs a tonn! Anyway, going to see my parents next weekend so going to break the news to them that the van is going to live on their driveway for a few weeks while it gets some work done!
Excellent! What work you doing- NB I don't suppose you know anyone who would loan/rent out a dry indoor space on hackney area to do a spot of welding.....I do it on the roadside and tbh it's a bit dodgy and probably dangerous but needs must. Cheers.
