Post by paulgav »

hi can anyone out there in t25 land offer any help,i have a 1988 dg engine van the engine ran greatfor years till exhaust went ,so i fitted a vw speed shop system and had to have an alloy weld done on one exhaust stud .i also had the pierburg carb refurbed at gassure in chester.since then it ticks over great but when i accelerate it has no go in it and top speed is 55mph.i have fitted a new coil, rotor arm ,dizzy cap ,fuel filter, air filter ,fuel lines ,i had the engine compression tested and its okay and ran it from a jerry can by passing the fuel tank nothing improves it still lacks the power it had before ,any ideas?

We had this in today, it was, for info, a cheap "pooh" coil that broke down under load and a manifold leak on no.3&4 cylinders, put on a nice new blue bosch and new gasket, no hint of misfire and pulls 60 easily
