1.6 cs swapping to 1.9 1y

hi all

this is first time posting on this or to that matter any forum. have been reading all the information i can find on here volkszone and brickyard. and after having taken the plunge and brought myself a 1986 cs t25 that looks like its a converted panel, split in the high top roof, rusty windscreen from what i can gather all standard probs which are on the backburner while i deal with the engine swap.
i also brought a mk 3 estate golf last week as a doner car. due to messing up with dates of road tax i quickly had engine pulled out by local garage for the price of the scrap, which may be where my problem is. have gearbox and all ancillaries still attached but they have cut the wiring loom of very short and no ecu. trying to get my head round whether this is a major prob or if the t25 electrics just attach directly to engine. if anyone could help with this would be stunning. will also soon have a 1.6 engine with blown head if any one has any use for one hasn't overheated just made the cooolant system look more like the sump!!!

From recollection there was only one important cable that was the one to the cut off solenoid there is a thread here somewhere with photos of the wires you need and those you can disregard, you need to keep the pump from the donor the rest you take off the CS there are loads of threads here and lots of us have done it and you will not be disappointed with the outcome.

sorry just read this again you do keep the diesel injection system from the from the 1y don't you ??? read so many threads in the last three weeks. cheers

cheers thats ok then thought i'd got it wrong then, yea pics are always great found a step by step swap for cs to aef on here assuming some of that will still be relevant. still not found a definative step by step for 1y in pics, well 1but he ran outta cash halfway through so pics just stopped .
