Its VW supplied stuff but is loctite 5970...says on the tube "not recomended for immersion in petrol" but i guess diesel is not petrol so maybe the very stuff? what you think?

after i had discovered that i had some of the infamous batch of seals ( the ones which dissolved in petrol) for my new sender unit last year, i put the original seals back on. i wanted to beef them up with a fuel proof sealant and was recommended Wellseal which i think is shellac based. i have had no trouble since.
The guy who recommended it restores classic cars and motorcycles and always uses it for fuel related assemblies.

Interesting link to MLC in Preston, I think my engine man may get his Reinz gasket kits and so-on from there...
