Re: Broken Engine mounting...
A little way to go before Sparksville then! Good to know the left hand mount will hold it, I suppose it depends on the state of the LHS rubber mount and how many speed bumps you hit before you notice.

Damn Mark, that does look bad mate. I don't really know what to suggest, but it does look quite serious that. Good luck with it mate whatever you decide to do.

Re: Broken Engine mounting...
Well a bit of progress has been made. I remembered that one of my neighbours runs his own Aero engineering workshop here in Macclesfield so I popped in to see him this morning...
WOW what an Aladdin's cave ( if its made of metal he can make it or repair it) So he came round this evening and looked at the damage and reckons he can fix it in situ in exchange for me doing a bit of work for him on his house
So all being well this weekend we should have it fixed..

Mark, is that Chris & Tony Eifflander (PAW) ?
If so I too know them quite well (through the Model Aero engine trade !)
Good luck in getting it sorted mate.

Re: Broken Engine mounting...
Two years ago I smashed a hole in my block ...don't ask .... so it was suggested that I fill it with liquid metal. I did and it drove 4000 miles before it went. Iwas going to redue it but another engine came up so replaced it. But what a sunstance. It became as strong as the block. It might be worth having a sniff about in case extra strength is needed.

Re: Broken Engine mounting...
Well my friendly engineer and neighbour Tony came round this afternoon to re drill and tap some new engine mounts on the camper as well as to machine a custom aluminium spacer for where the engine block mounting points had fractured thus requiring a spacer between the engine mount bracket and the block...All done with engine in situ..
Just need to refit all the water pipes and oil cooler and filter and a few wires..I'm well chuffed.
Tonys custom aligning bracket to ensure the tap is the at the same angle as the other mounting points

The Man at work

The engine bracket back in place with the aluminium repair spacer block.

Re: Broken Engine mounting...
Only just caught this thread. Was about to say I wouldn't have given up either. The alternative would have perhaps have been to look at an earlier engine mount bar and adapt to suit.
