Listen to my new engine noise- Video :-/

Post by Graham81 »

Ok the rain has stopped me pulling the rocker covers off at the mo so i thought I would post the vid on here - if it works!
Just wanted to see if anyone else has had this horrible rattle noise, doesnt sound like the others that I have heard, hoping its just the lifters and not something else!
looky looky

you are allowed to open the engine bay and look inside! try and locate the source of the sound you could try using a tube put it to your ear and move the other end around and see where its loudest.

The vid was just a quick one to highlight the odd noise, had just come back from shopping with a boot full of food :-)
Will get out tomorrow and have a look at it again, the noise sounds like its coming from the heads, just thought other people had more tapping noises than my bag of nails noises.
Will get the listening sticks out :-)

I agree
take the fan belt off and start it up for a minute or two
if the noise has gone then water pump death is imminent :D
