diesel rev counter please please help anybody?

Got the original rev counter, on the back there are 3 pins
does any body know which pin is which tried wiki and google and cant get
it sorted.

Do you not have a printed circuit board on there? from the wiring diagram one connection goes back to the W connector on the Alternator (for engine rev info) via pin 9 on the multi connector under the dash theother two are earth and positive.

No printed circuit board, we are working blind this is a petrol to diesel conversion
I really need a plug for the back or to find out which pin is which.

Do you have the diesel dash? The petrol one works off the ecu or distributor I don't think they are interchangeable.

Ive put the rev counter in got a new alternater with the w
connection on so thats 1 pin the others are 12v+ & 12v-
but I dont know which ones are what.

OK test continuity from one pin to track 3 on the multipin connector, that is earth the other should go to track 8/positive

When you say Petrol to Diesel Conversion are you talking about the engine or fitting a Diesel Tacho to a petrol Engine?

Engine has been changed to diesel before I bought the van
but wiring was a bit of a mess so we are sorting it out
only problem is the rev counter .
