New Kentish Campers wrote:Right, I've been getting on with doing the insides and have begun to refit the rear area, starting with the new headlining and working my way down:
I stiched the supporting rod for the headlining in, using the old headling as a pattern, and fitted it, and then applied some glue to the rear frame, then put a couple of mole grips onto it all to hold it still while the glue cured. I've no idea if this is how the professionals do it, but it seemed the best way for me
Then onto the front section, appling glue all the way along the seam and attaching the headlining. Its supported front, rear and by its wire support now..
Now its pretty much in place, just giving it a little stretch hear and there to seat it.
While that was drying, I began on the bit under the bed:
Then put some of that insulation foil stuff undeneath the engine cover area:
Then put new cover in place and fixed it down:
Insulated both inner rear wings & tailgate with it too:
Then I fittted the recovered wardrobe back in place:
And then the overhead locker thingy:
I'm pleased with how the headlining went in, its nice and taught, you could almost play a tune on it![]()
Hear's a close-up of the wardrobe door and its new handle:
I made a bit of a ricket when recovering this bit, I forgot that the rear would be on show so used two bits of offcuts instead of one complete bit [tight wad] so instead I made a little filler bit to run in line with the light bar unit, and I'm pleased with how it looks, much classier
