Putting a watercooled engine in an Aircooled van is a mammoth task because there's no radiator or piping to the front of the van. It would be cheaper and easier to get an lpg conversion if running costs are a big issue. Or get rid and buy a watercooled van.

I had mine converted to gas which effectively doubles the mpg. 35-40 mpg is a lot easier to live with and the conversion paid for itself within 12 months.

Mine was just over £1k a couple of years back, might be a little dearer now.. Steve at Gasure did mine (member on here)and it was spot on from day one with no hassle. Highly recommended. He's in Chester though, so take a brolly.leebo wrote:is the conversion exspensive?
