Re: fuel cut off solenoid symptoms
Hello,
Fuel cut off solenoid on Solex carb ?
Solenoid is canister with wire sticking out of side (usually LHS) of carb. 17 mm spanner to loosen, then out by hand.
It should have a shaft with a brass plug.
The shaft should be sticking out
Put 12 volts to the terminal and earth the body, the shaft should pull in quite firmly. If so ok.
If not, change, available and cheap.
As a get you home solution, cut the solenoid shaft off. Note: The engine may 'run on' when you switch off.
