Heater control cable

Post by fairwynds »

Hi all
Im trying to source a heater control cable for my 1985 1900DG WBX. The one that goes from hot/cold slider on dash to the heater control valve under van near radiator.
I've tried:
WIKI
Wanted section
JK
Brickwerks
GSF
VW
but so far cant find one. Does anyone know of a supplier please?
Many thanks

Thanks for the quick reply :)
They are, however, out of stock at the moment.... will have to be patient unless anyone else comes up with an alternative.
Cheers

I think that is LHD Steve

Etos lists

252-265-473A
cable for heater valve
1 paint mark yellow/red
F 24-D-000 001>> RHD
1190MM

Fairwynds VW Classic sell them for about 7 euros so try emailing Brickwerks to order one for you (classic site calls it a lever  )

Thanks for replies guys. Think Ive sourced a new one.
In meantime, Ive fitted the (second!) new heater control valve. First one sprung a leak after a week (the make was 'MEYLE' and it has the number
100 819 0005 5H10 printed on it) - I have examined it off the van and by blowing through it and blocking off one end, in the correct direction of flow, it leaks at the spindle nut/fitment. So Ive bought a VW new one (I know, I know, I shouldve done this in first place, but didnt realise I was buying sub standard!).
Ive fitted the new valve but the little metal clip that holds the cable against the valve has snapped. Any ideas where I could get a new one (I will try VW!) or could anyone with access to EKTA tell me the part number, asuming it has one?
Cheers

Clip Part number on here

Brickwerks sell genuine heater valves and Febi ones at a /3 the price. I take it Febi are a superior brand to meyle
