Hazzards....
hi, the Komet went through his MOT yesterday with flying colours, one mention from the tester though, the hazard lights only come on if the hazard rocker switch is on and the indicator stalk is up as if to indicate right. He said he would prefer it to just put the hazards on by hitting the rocker switch.. Any help please, is it the rocker switch, or a fuse issue? Darren

Re: Hazzards....
Has this always been the case, or has it only recently started operating in this way?
I think it's more likely to be a wiring issue than a faulty switch, but I could of course be wrong. Personally I'd start by trying to trace the wires from each switch to see where they go.
So ignoring the hazard system for one minute... does the left and right indicators work on their own, as they should?
With regards to the fuse, according to The Brick Yard, the hazard lights are fed from a different fuse than the indicators, so it's a bit of a strange fault

Re: Hazzards....
The first thing to check would be the hazard switch itself when switched on position you should have continuity between 49a and R marked pins on the back of the switch.
Check the crown of earths above the fuse box. Make sure it is cleaned up and any iffy looking terminals are replaced. It is unusual that it would only affect one side though, but just from a step towards the happy van owner place it's a good thing to check. It's a good idea to disconnect the battery negative/s when you do this.

Re: Hazzards....
Just out of interest does it also work with the hazard switch on and indicator down (i.e. indicating left)?
