Glass Problem T25
Hi All,
I am new to this forum. I recently bought a 1986 T25 Camper and i took it to a eberspacher specailist to get the heater serviced. I had a phone call from them yesterday to say the had opened the window above the sink to let some fumes out and they have smashed it! now i need to source some new glass asap? it was a converted panel van so i am not having much luck in sourcing the glass. The window that is in is the sliding type but i would even be happy with a window that doesnt open as long as it fits! Does anyone know where i may be abale to get something to fit?
i was looking to take the van away this weekend but it now doesnt look posiible after their misshap!
thanks
Rob

Re: Glass Problem T25
As a short term fix do you have a plastics supplier near you? A piece of perspex cut to size should be only a tenner at most. Sorry I can't help with the glass poser.

OOps... I'd be leaving it to the place that broke it to sort one out, if it were mine.
That's good advice from Meggles, should do you for a while, just get a new seal if you need it from sealsdirect.
If you measure the exact openinig you'll be able to get a window from somewhere. Check for any makers mark on the old one or the frame and Google it, plenty of options really, try some of these from my bookmarks

Re: Glass Problem T25
Autoglass or the like should be able to cut flat safety glass to any size/shape, they do the cab glass in our dumpers and shovels. Otherwise if it's a normal coversion sliding window one of the breakers may have one in stock. Either way the garage pay for it.

Re: Glass Problem T25
Should have said that I would expect the garage to pay for the repair as well as the temporary fix! I was mainly thinking of getting it sorted quickly to save the weekend.
Re: Glass Problem T25
Thanks for all the replies. I have just had a call from the garage and they are getting some glass made to measure but its not going to happen in time for this weekend, anyway at least its getting sorted! mind the weather isnt meant to be very good anyway!
once again thanks for the advice.

I'd be intrigued to know how you manage to break a sliding window just by opening it
and if my van filled with fumes I'd open the sliding door not the window...

Re: Glass Problem T25
I have a sliding window from a van conversion, what dimensions is your window cut out?
If there's no oil under it then there's no oil in it.
Re: Glass Problem T25
davethebus I have asked the garage to messure the size of the window and should know tomorrow. I think they have ordered the glass to be made but this will only be the side thats broken. If yours is the same size i would be interested anyway incase the otherside goes the same way. Ill let you know the size as soon as i know.
1664 thats what i thought when they rang me! they say it just fell out, mind i dont think id ever opened that window so who knows
