Well, then i would suggest forgetting about rocksliders for the mo and get to the next Syncro event.. this weekends shipston event would have been a really good learning excercise for you, several newbies there too.. and several virtually std vans..
Syncropendance will be a cracker too.. some much more challengine terrain available too..

Re: rock sliders, IIRC a Scottish chap in a very tidy red 16" doka crushed his sill while negotiating a buttressed tree root at Syncrop. year before last? Tears before bedtime as it was his first offroad outing...

They have to be a good thing for anyone who likes to get stuck in, without getting stuck.

K I'm loving the Das Mule sliders. I wish I'd got the Mrs to bring them back with her... :(

Would anyone like me to get a couple of suitable lengths of 50 x 50 x 5(?) tube to have a go at making something similar? The syncro is definitely in R&D mode at the moment.

I'm thinking as an alternative to the very good syncronutz' ones and not claiming they'll be any better

Those bumpers do look nice and really suit the T3. Rear one looks very SA Microbus (apart from the holes!)

The only thing i have reservations with on the Das Mule sliders is the bits hanging down off them. They are very nice though huh!

With the Syncronutz versions, at least the bits for the high lift jack are as unobtrusive as possible, but still work.

I did email them, but no reply as yet...

I wonder if I'd get any looks from the yanks bringing a full Das Mule set back from the US? ;)

Go via Finland .... have you seen the price of diesel in Norway? Even a Big Mac will cost you a tenner.

Yeh 15ppl more than in the UK, not enough to put me off visiting a county though. I have a four jerry can holder on the back of the Westy that will carry 80 liters and fuel Its only £1.12pl in Belgium and Netherlands

I should get 1000 miles from that lot and a full fuel tank and I dont eat Mcdonalds.

Will you be headed here Jed? If so, pop in for a coffee mate, or a beer. We are around 400 clicks south of The Arctic Circle. Oh and yes, you will need your Bull Bars here, as the further North you go, the more chance on hitting a Moose, or Bear.

1,15 today in denmark (and falling steadily) and a lot closer to your destination. last chance for cheap beer is northern germany after that the prices make owning a syncro look cheap!!! if you take the last german exit on the motorway before you enter denmark there is a huge retail park that supplies everyone in denmark with cheap alchohol.oh and the danes love their little compact cars (up, aygo, etc etc)so bullbars a good idea here too
