Has anyone managed to modify the middle 2 seats in a caravelle GL so they fold forwards like the rear seat?
It'd make the load area so much more useful to carry long items in.

Not sure any insurance company would be keen on that sort of modification. As there would be a chance of them folding forward in the event of an accident.Best left alone methinks.

I've just fitted Unwin tracking and seat clamps to mine. I can now remove the bench, together with the attached jump seat, in about 30 seconds. Refitting takes a bit longer, perhaps 45 seconds. The only downside is the weight of the combined bench when you come to lift it out. It can also now be moved forward or aft if you want greater knee room on either middle or rear bench.

The 3 seater bench that was in it from the factory (its a CL with a GL interior in it now) had the end seat that folded in the same way a 2 door car's seat does to allow access to the rear seat. I didn't know they made GL seats that folded.
That Unwin track system looks useful, though its not a cheap option is it?

Sorry Zebedee if I misled you to thinking mine was a GL. The bench with jump seat that I have is one of the South African peculiarities.
As to the Unwin, I agree that the parts are pretty expensive, even second hand, but they make the vehicle so adaptable. I am fortunate in working for a company operating hundreds of fully equiped minibuses and was able to liberate the bits I needed from a scrapper.
