Be prepared to buy a new motor (£75) as, on mine anyway, the bearing is not user changeable. (mine just needed freeing off)

It is a self aligning "ball" on the shaft, the problem is this ball is held captive in the case by a springy star (internal spikes) washer with a felt seal under it. This retainer is held in place by a circular metal plate that is spot welded to the case, so removing it would involve some careful grinding (Dremel ?) and worse still, I am not sure how a DIY'er would re-attach the retaining plate. The spot welding looks too fine to be done with normal kit (though I know very little about welding). It might be possible to pop rivet it back ? Anyway I bet even Propex don't sell the motors internal parts, I bet they buy them in as complete units

Re pics, I have kicked myself so often in life for being so full of enthusiasm to get "stuck in" or simply to complete a task, I just forget. Even simple before and after pics of a wilderness garden transformed into a lovely one (more than a few times), a totally wrecked looking Rotavator transformed into almost as new etc etc, plus of course various jobs on the van.
Got a new van, but it's a 165bhp T4 [shock horror] Accurate LPG Station map here
