Temp Guage

Post by Trunkster »

Hi Huys. I have a 1982 air cooled. Temp guage is on the dash next to the radio. The guage has never worked and now I am starting to use the camper I need to have it working. I found in the engine bay a funny looking wire and plug which was identified as what was once one of those electric dip stick guages. Would I be better of installing a new dip stick guage or try to revert back to the origional method? I dont actually know what the origional method was so can I have some advise of you guys please. I have looked through the archives and people talk about warning lights! Where is the warning light as it has never come on? Is that low oil pressure or over heating?

Thanx Trunkster
If in doubt give it a clout!
