Paint related questions.

Post by northantsandy »

Hi guys
I am getting ready to paint my Autohomes Komet Hi-top, prep is still ongoing but I now need to order the paint. I have decided to stick to pastel white. What I need to know is, Can I paint the hi top with the same paint? Do I need a special fibreglass primer/ undercoat? Do i need to put anything on after the paint e.g laquer etc

glossing hit tops , personal preference but i prefere flatter finnish, so matting agent in and tone the shine down , also check very very carefully, if you find loads of very fine crazing cracks then dont gloss it as it will high light them

What do you mean by a matting agent? Do you add it to the gloss paint? It has some cracking but only very localised where something has struck the hi top. I am picking up from your comments that if I add a 'matting' agent to the gloss paint it will give me a preferable flatter finish.
