hi metal micky the gear stick broke i think because where the spring stits at the base there is a coller and a grub srew and it seemed to have snapped right where the grub screw bites the gear stick ! but ive welded it back now and changes gear much better i can change gear and the clutch is prob not slipping as when i give it some revs it drives fine its just when the van gets hot like on long journys and i pull at traffic lights put it into first ready to pull away, the van trys to move while the clutch is down, and i find it hard to get revese when the van is in this state also sorry its a 2.1l petrol 5 speed gearbox

Ah so you have a clutch that isnt clearing when hot, ok ,when cold and stationary note how the clutch feels and where the bite point is, after a bit of running stop the van and go through the same as cold and note the bite point and feel
What do you notice different,
something is causing the clutch to drag,
cant really help unless in the flesh

hi okay yes ill do that , at the moment my clutch leg feels like its exhausted its a stiff cluctch and trying to keep the engine running while reversing is a big leg workout hahah plus a small golf steering wheel with no powerseering by the time ive got out ive done a full body workout hehe

hi ive done what you said and checked where the cluctch is when its cold and hot and its very low , meaning the biting point is close to the floor , i took the van on a trip to chichester i live in eastbourne so a good 160 miles and when i got home i could hardley select any gears it seems to be when its very warm it does not llike going into gear could this be oil leaking onto the clutch ?
