I've struggled to get the shine back when I flattened it back - I've tried a few different ways to see what worked best (isn't it great when you can simply sand it off and repaint?). If I flattened it back I got a lovely smooth finish but even with T-Cut and polish and a lot of elbow grease, I simply couldn't match the shine of the untouched paint
I've ended up just flattening back any areas that look a little rough and then repainting these, I'll then try t-cut and polish from there (or possibly just the polish if the t-cut dulls the shine). I've quite a few layers on mine now so hopefully a good base.

I'm getting prepared for paint now, plenty of flatting and some standing of dodgy filler.
My question is do I need the mix like condensed milk or evaporated? I've got my milks confused somewhere in this thread and I can seem to find it again.
Also is it worth me making a mix and storing it in a sealed container ready for the next coat or should I just mix and paint?
Oh and a good buff and polish will bring back the shine at the end. I didn't bother all over as some bits were fine as they were. Also don't flat too early or it'll be like sanding rubber. 1200 seems to work best unless you make a pigs ear of previous coats.

Spent the day sanding the van, just the fiddley parts around the windows to do.
Vactan applied and dents filled, going well so far.
Hopefully painting will start Thursday weather permitting,

Got my dvd today so will be watching it as soon as I can . Paint ordered today so hopefully will be ready for next week to get some on. cant Wait now . Ive had to take more paint off than I wanted to as there has been reaction between some previous re spray . Taken it back where possible to original topcoat.

Got all my stuff from B&Q. Paid a little more for the better ones and well worth it. Done 3 vans now and no probs at all with B&Q stuff. I'm sure someone will come along and say they got better elsewhere for cheaper but my B&Q stuff was fine for me. Good luck. Don't forget to let the paint soak into the rollers first.

Was planning on starting the painting next week but having just seen the long range forecast i think i migh be leebving it a bit longer yet

I bought a tray with roller and a couple of refiils and a spare set of 6 rollers (high density foam). Think I paid about £10/£12. White spirit was about £5 IIRC.
