New Owner of a T25 needs help!!

Post by billymos »

I have just bought a T25 1983 and need to have it lowered to get it into my garage - having bought new springs and shocks, the garage were unable to help as they say the Trailing arms for the rear suspensions (wishbone) need to also be replaced - these are proving hard to source (and expensive) - anyone have any ideas of the best way to resolve this please???

Hello and welcome to the madhouse.

Your post would be better placed in the technical section rather than general chat. It would also help if we knew which part of the world you live in. The members of this club are located world wide. :D

Chances are the rear arms are rotten and that's why they are expensive, coz everyone wants them. Just keep looking but expect to pay £75+ for a pair or even one..
Mmm what's that strange smell from my exhaust...

Welcome to the forum.............I'm sure there's a T25 specialist somewhere near you, just be a bit more specific as to roughly where you are in Essex and I'm positive someone will pass on the necessary details

hi! mine failed its MOT this week on OSR trailing/suspension arm so i too have been trying to find one or a pair,i think i have found mine now, but i spoke to this chap who is breaking 3 buses this week in woking surrey (call 07810208053 kev) he said he thinks he has them and they were a good/fair price. maybe worth giving him a ring if you cant repair yours! (if mine seller does not come up trumps- bagsie the best set!!!)
good luck!

Hi. Thanks for help I received locating spring locator from brickwerks etc.(Jason k) and to all you other fanatics out there for your ideas on where I could locate trailing arms if needed. Glad to say locator done good :D and hopefully once the springs etc settle I will have achieved the amount of drop I need. Just shy of the 50mm I wanted but supplier of springs and struts tells me it takes a week or so to settle. Will be putting picture and name on status soon. Thanks again :ok
