Ive been looking at various "big brake" conversions that people are carrying out. The Girling 60 caliper seems hard to get hold of so i see people are using the ATE 57 caliper from the Audi A6.
I got hold of one of these calipers just to have a look at what was involved in fitting them. However the ATE 57 doesnt really look that much bigger than the calipers fitted to my 1986 Syncro?
I realise that bigger discs are also fitted with these calipers, is this where the improvement comes from?
Can any one tell me if the ATE 57 is a worth while upgrade.
Thanks
Big Brakes ?

Fitted Futbus's disc kits front and back. Couldn't be happier.

Hi Rob
Which calipers are they? They look like ATE 57's in the Futbus picture. Did you think they were much bigger than the originals?
