Hi all. Well after much "uming" & "aring" I've taken the plunge & bought a (tatty) T25 . Hey, I've restored a Lancia so I've got a handle on rust.....or so i thought . The rear swing arm mounts on my wagon have seen better days.......does anybody know if you can buy these sections or am I looking at having to fabricate myself?

What's so funny?? I didn't say it was simple! I didn't say 'I'll be replacing it later this month', either. I said 'will be replacing mine in the next couple of months... um, because I will be.

I think we were trying to point out that its usually more extensive work than what it may appear to be. Its possible to make up any of these parts providing you have the tools to bend thicker steel. I only wish I had a fly press sometimes. As a youth in one of my first jobs, I spent hours making hundreds if not thousands of brackets for womens tight stands that were a similar gauge. Relatively primitive tool the fly press but SO useful.

Indeedy. I'm sure the joy of removing swing arms and everything else with the thought of nice clean and newly painted metal will wear thin by the time I've sorted one side, discovered more work that needs doing etc.
Must keep telling myself to stop removing parts, otherwise we won't be going anywhere this summer. I'm still amazed at how rusty the brackets have gotten, and wonder what sort of treatment/lack of for them to get that way compared to other vans. I often find myself looking at other T25s pivot points in envy. Is there a self-help thread?
Have just ordered some leveling chocks to cheer my up
