Hi
I have heard two explanation for this one is that it reduces the load across the ignition switch. And I have heard that it is to reduce load on the battery so all the juice goes to the starter. Is it both?
I'mlooking through how people wire the high load and seen that some go for the P contacts on the rear of the relay panel which have a perm live or wiring it straight to the battery. Should it not be wired to the G contact which are connected to the X reduction relay?
X relay Load reduction and head light upgrade

Yes.
No the P terminals are fine, since the headlight relay trigger feed is derived from X, the lights are defeated when cranking the engine as intended by VW.Hacksawbob wrote: I'mlooking through how people wire the high load and seen that some go for the P contacts on the rear of the relay panel which have a perm live or wiring it straight to the battery. G contacts are not all open lives either (some are switched) and only some of them are fused, they are already designated for various auxilliary items
