Best way to remove inner sill

Post by Doogs »

The new sill panels inner and outer have arrived from schofields, any advice on removing the inner sill gratefully received ie anything to make it easier etc, already just realised i've welded the new rear wing to the redundant sill :(

well l,ife would have been a touch easier without but you dont really want to be going right in to the back anyhow, cut it around the rear jp and sit it just inside and then mig the jp/sill join,
originally bthe sill went full length and was welded inside the jp prior to the wing and stuff going on , youll be ok

Ok thanks for the advice i think a shift of gingerly cutting ahead, i was looking for an original join around the rear but that makes sense :ok

see bottom of this page, I was only securing stuff here and not replacing the sill

thinking about it, unless you were openin g up the jp as in this case then you would have been no better of with the wing off really

A chap on here called 'Fidget' did a really good write up on replacing his inner sill, it's documented in this section of the forum if you have a search through. (sorry, don't know how to link to old threads)
