Autosleeper Electrics

Hi, I have got a 1986 auto sleeper poptop.

I have a switch between the electric control panel and the interior light (the small circular one with the white dot in the pic below)

Could all you very clever people please let me know what it does.

I have a white switch behind the drivers seat that I believe I turn on to allow the fridge to be used and have to turn off when parked or my battery gets cross with me!

Sorry for being rubbish as I know this is all straight forward to most.

That switch in the picture has been retro fitted by a previous owner so you're going to have to experiment or trace wires to find out what it does.

Don't know about the switch behind the driver's seat but according to the Autosleeper wiring manual the fridge is only energised when the engine is running via a relay (as it should be).
Granted your Autosleeper's not a Trident but the wiring is the same. Loads of info in the club Wiki....

Hi,
I agree you will have to experiment or trace the wiring to find out what they do.
Your fridge should only run off the battery (leisure or main) when the engine is turning over.
You need to switch on the fridge with the rocker switch on the control panel and the red switch on the fridge. When the engine starts the red switch will illuminate and go out when you stop, or it should. The thermostat, on the fridge, does not operate when running off the battery so on a long run you may find that everything freezes. We turn ours off every so often on a long journey.
