Glovebox light

hi all

I have a California and would like to replace the missing light above my glovebox (see the nice hole in my dash)



Has anyone seen replacements for these? I saw in another post that they do not appear in vagcat.

(I also need to replace the glovebox retaining mechanism (yellow string) but that is another story.)

Have a look at 80's-90's passats and golfs in scrapyards. Probably same part from VWs partbin.

Hi Westy End,

What is the socket in between the cigarette lighter and the empty light recess? I have one of those as well I think and wondered what it was?

That is a DIN socket. It is the European vehicle power socket (rather than the British way of putting everything through the wobbly fag lighter socket). You can get adapters so that your fag lighter plug can fit into that socket and it should work.
