loose windscreen wiper

Post by chriscburgess »

So the drivers side wiper keeps slipping. so i went to tighten the nut that holds the blade etc to the spigoty thing and the nut keeps turning without tightening.

I know I thought I will take it off and put a new nut on but the bloody thing just keeps turning again. so the nut just seems to spin on the bolt in both directions without moving.

Any clueshow i can get this off and what to do after that please?

Was hoping to go to Pikey tomorrow too!

Chris try applying some prying action under the nut as you try to undo it, it's stripped the thread and needs to start again in order to come off, if you are lucky it's mostly the nut and you can recut the thread on the spindle, if you are not I have a rhd wiper set complete with motor, from a later van than yours but should be compatible, but that's dash out job to fit, won't rain tomorrow will it 8)
