Head nut sealant

Post by puddin »

Hi All

My better half has just picked up a full gasket set from GSF for our 1.9DG. It seems that the kit contains no tubes of sealant :roll:

GSF have the sealant for the Water seal gasket (Reinzosil?) but have no idea what spec of sealant we need for the Head nuts. Using the info here, all I know is that it's yellow :oops:

Can anyone confirm which type or brand of sealant I can use for the head nuts?

Cheers

Probably too late now but Baxter does a kit in it with everything you need: http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/shop?page=s ... ory_id=123" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I was expecting the GFS kit to also include the sealant, the on-line shop does show it's included.

Annoying that I only spotted the leak last night, already placed 2 orders with brickwerks this week. However, with the engine now out and good weather this weekend I'd rather not delay.

I do have some wellseal jointing compound, would this be suitable?
