It's the silver looking flexi pipe that attaches to the manifold isn't it? From what dave said, the Blanking plate will be fitted and that flexi pipe fitted back over. I'm sure that's what was said, correct me if I'm wrong of course?

Money down the pan. They're still sitting in the boxes they came back in from the engineers.
Will have to stick them on eBay, but doubt I'll get even half that figure back.

Am I the only one still trying to work out exactly What the blithering heck this post has to do with anything? Or have you all given up?

Sorry, a bit random :-)

Sure, but why ? You're under no obligation to keep it. Maybe in some less enlightened countries, but not in GB, yet.

Doesn't really matter does it? Both ways do the same job.

Crankcase breather filter, stops the dampness that enables the soot from EGR to settle. Not cheap though!

No it doesn't matter, just takes up a bit of space. Yes the Mann Provent looks good doesn't it, but the price has put me off. A cheaper alternative is the oil separator VW and Audi fitted to some vehicles inline with the breather pipe going from block to head. I've been keeping my eye open when I visit the local breakers but not found one yet.

Do you know what engine, model cars they were fitted to?

Various, including Passat 3B and Audi A4 with later 90/110bhp TDi's. eg. in ETOS for 98 Passat the page is 103-85. Oil separators are fitted to quite a few vehicles, maybe some could be adapted to suit, but it'd be easier to get the one designed for 'our' engines. I'll find one, just need to be patient..

Yes, thats the one, the correct pipes may also be needed to hook it up. Not sure you could get away with just cutting into the regular single breather pipe to insert the separator. I'm hoping to find a complete 'kit' off a scrapper.

I know a couple of people might find all this annoying but I find all this info and interest in recent trend towards AFN engine installs really interesting. I know no two are the same right now but its awesome that there is a constant flow of new things to think about, you just dont get that anywhere else at the moment.
