upper ball joint

Post by Matflint »

Everything was going so well

I took old one off no probs

come to fit new one put spindle in place, put top two bolts in loose

and put new nut on and began tightening it up using a socket and ratchet

everything going well then realised nut and threaded spindle both turning

the nut had reached the nylon blue washer thingy and now was turning

everything

How do I tighten it up?

Do I use a spanner on the nut and somehow hold the bottom of the spindle

Its looks impossible an adjustable spanner wont fit so do i need to buy an

open spanner that fits the nut

Help Please!!

try taking off the nylock nut (the one with the blue ring, put a normal one on and tighten, then use the nylock as a lock nut??

use the taper to hold it, iirc we used a spanner to take up the gap before the nylock part of the nut contacted......

Yeah.. push the top arm down so you have some friction on the taper..
