does anyone know what this is ?

starting to strip my old interior out when i came across this

it has 2 red wires from the terminal on the starter battery with an imline fuse in, i took the fuse out and checked the 12v flourescent light and the tap switch that runs off the leisure battery and everything works i dont see what it could be used for any ideas ?

Its a relay certainly. Split charge? Google the name on it - you'll soon find out then :D

Fridge when its on 12 volt?

Could be the relay that lets the fridge run on 12 volt when the engine is running and cuts off the supply when the engine stops.

Only guessing :?

the fridge that was in it only ran on gas and the split charge relay is bolted to the battery tray , its a mystery relay !

Lot of wires if it is - unless its two relays in once case - could be.

Looks like it is two relays. Look close at the second pic and you can see diagrams for two seperate switches on the top of it.

The plot thickens :D

Then its an accumulator split charge zed - for running two leisure batteries. May be a smart one, possibly not.

i dont know what to do with it ! it doesnt have anything to do with anything thats in the van ?

Its a 'Normally open relay with twin output' 30amps

Yep just edited my post above. Two relays in tandem. My guess is its redundant now. Not as high rated unit and not a smart one.

Wait a minute though - could they be powering the headlights? Try disconnecting a couple of terminals and see!

ok mate i,ll try and see if i can find what it does ive just spoke to the previous owner and he cant remember so its probably not important ! if i doesnt do anything you are welcome to it mate just pm me your address and i,ll post it to you
