reverse light switch

reverse light switch.anyone know where it is? cant get my reverse lights to work ,bulbs are ok so i guess it must be the switch ? i checked the fuses in the glove box and they all seem to be ok

1.9 1984 water cooled .

It's on the side of the gearbox. Left hand side, looking from the back, near the drive shaft.

You might also want to check the connectors to the switch when you change it. I had an annoying intermittent problem with my reversing lights which was cured completely when I remade the connections - the switch was fine. Its also wiring that's 25+ years old and getting pretty brittle.
